Under the direction of the award-winning start-up SOPAT GmbH from Berlin and other subject matter experts from research and industry, Subitec participates in the development of a particle analysis technology for multi-parameter analysis of microbial cultures.
Along with the project partners SOPAT GmbH, Abacus Analytical Systems GmbH, Karlheinz Hinze Opto Engineering GmbH & Co., the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, Germany as well as the Technical University of Berlin, Germany (Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering) and supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, a three-year project to develop a modular photo-and electro-optical measurement technology was initiated.
The focus on a multi-parameter analysis aimsto provide a comprehensive number of bioprocess parameters with minimal measurement efforts. Hereby, both the development of an in-situ monitoring system to improve process control in bioreactors, as well as an at-line analysis for the monitoring of parallel cultures are contemplated.
With the project, Subitec GmbH acts as experimenter in the field of the cultivation of phototrophic microorganisms.
Subitec's object will be to integrate the photo-optical technology in its flat panel airlift photobioreactors based processes and to implement the monitoring and the control of processes based on the sensor signal.
Subitec GmbH, as the technology leader in the field of microalgae biotechnology, will contribute its part in optimizing the necessary
process control and stability for the industrial production.
